With this artwork, I wanted to explore combining elements from multiple images into one oil painting. I added the first drawing using a grid, with subsequent images added with the help of transparency and an overhead projector. The first was a drawing of an emergency evacuation plan of Cramlington Children’s Hospital (Northumberland). Other images are a drawing of the internal workings (circuit board) of a laboratory pipette gun, and climbing frames and trees from children’s playgrounds. This montage of snapshots charts the painting’s evolution.
